PUR-Lay Flat Binding: Bleeds: need full bleed on all 4 sides. Files from InDesign need to be set-up in Single page mode instead of Facing pages to ensure there are full bleeds on all four sides. This will also ensure that there is no crossover from a facing page at the gutter. Gutter margin: 5/8” gutter margin recommended. Repkovers: This type of cover always uses PUR adhesive. The artwork on the IFC or IBC must be cropped 9/16 inches from the backbone for the adhesive tape. For critical type or image that is intended to print on the IFC and IBC, the Repcover safety margin is 7/8 inches from the backbone.
Mechanical Binding: (which includes spiral, wire, plastic comb, ring binders and in general any binding with holes in it and is held together through various mechanical methods) Bleeds: need full bleed on all 4 sides.
