Add 3/16” outside trimmed jacket size on all sides. There is 1/8” bleed allowance which is included in the 3/16”. (Note:all material intended to bleed must have the image extended 1/8” past trim)
Printed Image area is Visible Image Width + 1/4” Turnover for Front and Back Jacket cover.
Printed tint panels designed to cover the full width of the backbone should print to the full backbone width.
WARNING: Any backbone design intended to cover the full width of the backbone is subject to the inherent variation in paper thickness. This variation, along with normal variation in book manufacturing (see Note below) can lead to instances where the design does not necessarily stop at the backbone edge. Please contact your CSR for more information.
Register marks, which include center lines and corner marks, start at bleed and extend 1/8”.
Any design element not intended to bleed must be a minimum of 1/4” from final trim.
* Note: Normal variation in manufacturing is +/- 1/16” side to side and +/- 1/8” up and down.
This variation should be considered if design position is critical.
Any design element which is not intended to wrap around the edge of the backbone must be a minimum of 3/32” from the backbone edge on each side.
